This photographic exhibition, by Rick Martin, explores the complexity of architectural interiors in Thailand and other parts of the Asia Pacific region. TheINTERIOR will include spaces such as cafes, bedrooms and hotel rooms looking at the curious contrasts between the prosaic and profound. This exhibition is the result of two years work in the Asia Pacific region.
One hundred years ago reference to “the interior” meant the dark unexplored part of a country and its people such as the Africa described in Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness . In the 21 st century most of the world’s population lives in cities. The city is now the exotic “interior”
