French Fusion
Oct. 4 - 18 at La Lanta Fine Art

La Lanta Fine Art presents its first “Outsider Art” under the theme “French Fusion” by three self-taught artists.

“Outsider Art” is the term used in the art world since 1972 to describe art makers that have little or no contact with the institutions of the mainstream art world.

“French Fusion” Art Exhibition features 3 Bangkok based French art makers namely Laurence Causse-Parsley, Jean Claude Chambre, and Jean Francois Cheneau.

The collection is fused with figurative, abstract, landscape, and still life – all are linked to the theme of travel and journey.

Vibrancy and free form, Parsley presents her memory from past visits to major cities in Asia with acrylic on jute material.

Chambre’s coarse brush strokes on canvas depict scenery from Southern of France, Thailand, and Vietnam with reminiscence to Henri Matisse’s paintings.

Cheneau challenges his boundary with combination of uncommon materials featuring drawing-like nude figurative and scenery from his journey around Asia.

The “French Fusion” art exhibition is on display from Oct. 4 until Oct. 18. The opening reception is held on Oct. 4 at 7.00 pm .

New Arrivals
Oil on wooden board by Richard J. Schroeder
Bangkok based Californian artist, Richard J. Schroeder unveils his new collection of expressionistic figurative.

In this collection, Richard deliberately uses a limited palette such as sienna with green; or red with green; or just only blue. His thin washes and loose brush strokes allow the ground to show through with a strong source of light. Interestingly, the lightness lends itself to create undeniable power and depth of the paintings.
