Pigs Can't Fly in Plimsolls - Picassoish |
“Art should be sunshine to a home.” A British artist, "Brett" bases the idea of his recent works on the notion that art shouldn’t be forced to fit into any predetermined format - art shouldn’t be boring.
“Pigs Can’t Fly in Plimsolls” is a sequel of “Beagles in the Boots” limited edition sculptures which stirred the art market in France and the UK with their sense of humor and whimsical appeals. |
| |
“Pigs Can’t Fly in Plimsolls” is a twist of the British colloquial speech when a person responds to a child liar “Oh..so pigs can fly,” while Plimsolls is a popular brand of training shoes known in America.
“Pigs Can’t Fly in Plimsolls” makes a new history by illustrating history of art by the world's masters on its skin. “Pigs Can’t Fly in Plimsolls – Picassoish” and “Pigs Can’t Fly in Plimsolls – Popish” are availabe at La Lanta Fine Art. |

Brett was a classical painter by training. He is a British national born in Malaysia in 1962. He learned how to paint by working as an apprentice under the guidance of several internationally recognized artists.
"Once i have an idea I tend to work in a series, usually 8 or 12, this way it keeps things fresh and exciting for me. I change direction quickly. If it works, lets stop it and find something else to do !!"
As a classical painter, Brett has done portraits of many well known personalities in business, movie, and entertainment industries. He continues to develop diversity in his arts by exploring different media and trying different ideas.
Apart from the portraits, Brett’s clever artworks in form of new media can be found in homes of avid collectors across the UK, Europe and the US.
