Ultra Power Mixer - Picasso
Oil on canvas

Brett continues to pursue the history of art series by taking everyday ordinary objects and making them extraordinary. He deliberately creates a diversion by placing the works of great masters on the objects - totally out of context to the paintings but dramatic and intriguing.
His new body of work includes a series of paintings of some of the great European masters depicted on the shiny surfaces of everyday kitchen products such as chrome mixers and kitchen pots.

UNEVEN LIFE
by Chainapa Lepajarn
Feb. 3 - 28, 2009 at La Lanta Fine Art |
|
|
Chainapa Lepajarn, one of the leading Thai sculptors, exhibits small sized artwork selected from her newest creation in the “UNEVEN LIFE” collection.
This exhibition shares the intimate sorrowful feelings of the artist during periods of great grief in her life. |
| |
The work was created from a mixture of emotions – pressure, aggression, confusion and chaos through to a state of calm.
All these emotions were derived from feelings of loss, detachment and fatigue as well as being demeaned and insulted. However, in spite of such desperate feelings, the artist always yearned to express her negative feelings in the language of sculpture.” |
| |
|
In “UNEVEN LIFE,” Chainapa continues to impress the power and value of women. To her, women’s dignity comes from endurance, intellect, tenacity as well as the wisdom to carve her own opportunities with integrity.
The exhibition will be on display at La Lanta Fine Art from Feb. 3 until Feb. 28. Click her for our location.
