Stephen Eastaugh is an antartica explorer and artist from Australia. His work is inspired by places he visited and people he talked to in 70 countries in the last 25 years.
Eastaugh's work is collected by prominent institutions such as The National Gallery of Australia, The Phillip Morris Collection, The Museum of Modern Art Melbourne, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, and Queensland Parliament House Collection.
YOU ARE HERE exhibition features 3 series of work ; tarn, flags, and displaced mat.

The Tarn series is inspired by the scenaries from Franz Josef Land (a group of islands near the North Pole) |

The Displaced mat series is inspired by more than 30 places the artist visited and worked on transit. These places include Thailand, Laos, Egypt, Sahara Desert, Argentina, Greenland, Antarctica Penninsula and many more. |

In the InterContro series, hundreds of images are brought together to create a contradictory but interrelated picture .

In 'SuperBad', a dashing figure of Christopher Reeve as Superman stands proud, his hands on bright blue Lycra hips. Move closer to the piece and it becomes obvious that the Man of Steel is constructed from images of the World's villains and anti Heroes without which, Superman's raison d'etre would simply disappear. |
