Triptychs
by Josef Polleross
Today until Jan. 31 at La Lanta Fine Art

Josef Polleross follows the form of triptychs and has combined images taken in South East Asia showing themes and topics detected in the popular or religious life of the people.

There is a lightness in the images which stems from the fact that most of the triptychs show people - monks, street vendors, bike riders, women - in their daily routines.

There is no drama, and the weight is not on the documentary aspect. It is rather the playful combination of objects and colours which frees the pictures from their severe singularity .

Each image captures a unique moment which has come to life and has passed.

Assembled in the triptych, the pictures offer a glimpse into the world of South East Asia.

Monumental
Woodblock prints by Ralph Kiggell
Feb. 4-29 at La Lanta Fine Art

La Lanta is pleased to announce an exhibition of woodblock prints by Ralph Kiggell.

From his studio in Bangkok , Kiggell reflects on the towers we see in our everyday urban environment—water towers, pylons and chimneys, for example.

Rather than condemn these gigantic structures, Kiggell observes them sympathetically. Ugly in parts, they are still striking examples of engineering and design that testify to man’s ingenuity.

They are the pagodas and spires of modern man—our new monuments.

Please join us for the opening reception of Monumental and meet the artist on Feb. 7 at 7.00 pm at La Lanta Fine Art.
