La Lanta Fine Art is pleased to introduce two newly graduated sensational female artists, Chitmanee Chongwitookit and Dueanchuang Nindee in a duo exhibition, “Crisp Illusion”
In “Crisp Illusion,” both artists share a common technique of embroidery on fabric using the one of the most basic and ancient materials of human civilization; needle, yarn, and textile. The network of lines are formed through a process of repetition – an act of threading strands in and through the fabric. Empty space, volume of connected lines, and color composition create an illusion in various degrees of abstraction.
Chitmanee resorts to a limited color palette of threads and fabric. Her work touches on the instinct of wild and domesticated animals while presenting it in affable and gracious manners. The combination of empty space and orderly lines lends the viewers to have a glimpse of the artist's pensive sentiment.
On a contrary, Duenchuang Nindee presents a convivial series of embroidered material with bold colored fabric juxtaposing with kaleidoscopic stitched lines. Duenchuang lets her feeling run free with random line proportion and uneven gaps which create its own rhythm of abstraction.
Both Chitmanee and Duenchuang earned a degree in fine art from Silpakorn University in 2010. Their exhibition at La Lanta Fine Art is part of the gallery's YOUNG PROGRAMME to discover and nurture young talents from Thailand and around the region.
