Ditapong Boonsanong returns to La Lanta Fine Art with his new oeuvres – the study of changing textures from metallic to rustic and from sheen oil surface to acidy burnt patches. The exhibition offers allegory between deteriorating painting surface and the architecture of Bangkok; how it was lived and how it was neglected literally and conceptually.
Ditapong’s unique experiment of oil and acid on zinc plates expresses both ‘controlled’ and ‘chaotic’ nature. Fragments of rust that emerges from orderly painted structure indicate the undeniable effects of time and cycle of life.
